To easily exclude certain areas of the machine first remove the hopper and the reel mech and disconnect the door and then add each item back one by one, then use an electrical meter to measure where the short is occurring and check the area for burnt wires or connectors that could be causing a short. The coin relay switch is on the lower left side of the reel mechanism at the back corner. In another case a loose screw could had fallen out of the top of the front door and rested in behind the coin relay switch. The most frequent place is in the two 63 bulb lights in the bottom of the front door which illuminate the pay cup. This could be a short in many different places.
